ALTENEW Ambasador card of the week!

Hi all!

It's been a while since I've posted here. I have a new thing in the works, and today is when I find out if we will be moving forward with it. It's taken a TON of time these last few weeks, and card-making has been on the back burner. If it moves forward, you'll will be the first to know!

In the meantime, I have created a card this week for Altenew's Ambassador Program! I'm so honored to be a part of this program, I just LOVE their products! The florals are my favorites but EVERYTHING they create is amazing! For today's card, I'm featuring the Ornamental Poppies die with the Ornamental Lantern die. I am a part of their current Craft the Moment II class which features using botanicals with unexpected elements. The classes are still available on their website and the LIVE class with Erum will be on the 21st! Sign up today so you can get your product for the live portion of the classes.

In the meantime, let me share with you my card. The Ornamental Poppies die is one of my favorites. It has gorgeous poppy dies you can use with or without the background die which is included in the set. I chose to use nearly all the dies for this.

The card started with a panel of Andromeda card stock...a fabulous color if you ask me...and a sweep of Andromeda ink in the center of the panel. The background die cut also from Andromeda cardstock and layered on top. Adding the sweep of ink on the back panel deepens the color a bit, giving a bit of contrast for the background die to show up better. It's the little details like this that boost the end results of your creations.

Next, the poppies were die cut from white card stock and ink blended using the colors from the Andromeda color family, Enchanted Garden...fitting name IMO... A bit of Brushed Metallic Gold card stock for the center of the largest one was used, as yellow is the complementary color to purple. Using complementary colors...colors opposite each other on the color wheel...creates maximum contrast and gives a high intensity contrast when paired together. In other words...they make each other really pop!

The Ornamental Lantern element was die cut from the same Brushed Metallic Gold card stock and a bit of mustard colored cardstock from my scrap bin. Adding the mustard to the background die gives the element depth. The lantern and the poppies were added to the bottom left corner, with some being tucked behind each other, and all elements touching to have the eye follow the arrangement to the sentiment. Which is from the One-Go: Solid Sentiment Strips I set. There are 3 total versions of these; they are a must-have for every crafter...ignore the sentiment is a tad crooked, I didn't realize it until after the photos were taken... Finally a few Satin Gold Pearl Dots to highlight the sentiment and the card is done...Easy-peezy!

Now, what kind of elements are you going to put together in your next card? Let me know in the comments, so I can come and see what you create! Also...don't forget to sign up for the Craft the Moment II class...it's amazing!

Have a colorful day!

Gorgeous card! It's so elegant!

My next project will be cleaning my stamp room, I'm afraid. I need to concentrate on that before doing the creating. :( It's a job I am dreading... and I have put it off for so long.
