Hi all!
I'm back with another fun creation using more from the Lisa Horton Summertime Collection with Spellbinders! I love all things floral and plant related, and although I'm a fantastic floral designer, I can't keep a plant alive to save my life...to say I have a black thumb is an UNDERSTATEMENT! At least with this new collection, I can make paper flowers and plants that will last a lifetime!
I really enjoy using complementary colors when making cards. The juxtaposition of the colors against each other is striking and really creates interest. For this creation, complementary colors yellow and purple were used. Also, as a review...the Spellbinders cardstocks are FABULOUS!!! They are thick and cut like a dream. I'd recommend picking up a sample set from them to try them out if you haven't already...you won't regret it.

Lavender and Lilac cardstocks created the background for these happy lilies. First, Lilac cardstock was die cut using the new Ripped Edge Circle dies included in the Summertime Collection. It was then embossed with the Plaid Company embossing folder for some texture. Next, it was popped up with dimensional foam above a Lavender card panel.

For the flowers, I again used the Stargazer Etched Die set and created yellow lilies instead using Beeswax cardstock. Instead of ink, Altenew alcohol markers from their Pocketfull of Sunshine collection added depth and spots to the petals. The stems and leaves were created using Fern, Peridot and Rainforest card stocks...the perfect green colors against these yellows and purples!

Finally, some added Berry Gems for some sparkle and the Best Year Sentiments from the January Clear Stamp & Die club was used. You can pick up the club items with out a subscription, but why wouldn't you join the club? You get a 10% discount if you're a club member on every purchase you make! I mean...it really pays for itself...I like girl math.
I have more cards to share from this collection next week, be sure to stop by to check them out! Have a colorful day!
