Besties with SIMON SAYS STAMP!

Have you checked out the July release with Simon Says Stamp? The theme is Friend Like You which is perfect for the besties in your life!

I’m featuring today their scene maker products from the release. First up, the fabulous embossing folder Sunset Sailboat.

This card was incredibly EASY to create! Just use alcohol markers from light to dark swiping horizontally. As you use the darker markers, you use less swipes so the light colors show through. If you look at photos of sunsets, you will see the silhouette of a boat will not show up on the water, but the sun behind it does. Be sure to do that on your sunset cards!

For the sky, focus the warm colors from where the sun is on the horizon. The darkest warm color goes horizontally from the center of the sun. Then it graduates to yellow/green, then to blue at the highest point in the sky. Look at photos of sunsets for more clarification on that.

To finish off this card, I added some Icicle Stickles to the water just using my finger to swipe it on. The water sparkles in the sun, so I thought it was fitting. I also added white gell enamel to the cloud to make it look ‘fluffly’. I love the texture it created…

The next card uses the stencil and mask set called Mountianscape. My ink blending was a bit…questionable…but I do love the set. The masks make it so easy to use!

When I made the Sky, I used the cloud masks to place them where I wanted them in my scene. I then added the sentiments from the For the Birds stamp set. Just a little sentiment strip along the bottom of the clouds added a perfect touch.

Finally I added some sparkle gel pen to the edges of the clouds…a card isn’t finished without a little sparkle!!!
