Affordable Card Making with ALTENEW and a GIVEAWAY!

Hi all!

I’m excited to be a part of the ALTENEW Ambasador Program again this month! I have been busy creating with products from the January release, along with some oldie, but goodie products to coordinate with them. So let’s get into it!

It is hard, every month when a new release rolls out. I want SO many things, but budget restraints keep me from doing so. HOWEVER, with Altenew’s Mini Delight Subscription program, you can get a stamp & die set for only $10.99! You save $5, and I’m all about saving a buck! This month’s set is called the Expressions of the Heart, which has a Zero-Waste die and coordinating sentiment stamp set. Isn’t it adorable?

If you haven’t experienced the zero-waste dies yet, they are so fun and offer so many different ways to use them. The little die cuts can be used in so many different ways. Die cutting from Brushed Gold Metallic, Coral Bliss, Blush, Ruby Red and a sage cardstock, the amount of cards you can create with them is amazing! Use the die cuts individually, inlay them, use the negative piece after cutting for a background, shaker card, or even use it as a stencil. Really the possibilities are endless. For this first card, I choose to use the die cuts to create a wreath.

Start by using the Dotted Geo Cover Die on the back panel. Using a subtle cover die or embossing folder for your background just knocks the design up a bit and gives your foreground a grounding element. With a pre-made circle from the cover die, laying out the leaf die cuts is super easy! Just follow the circle with a base of leaves with your base color, which was sage. Leaving the gold for the last, gives the layout more shimmer and shine.

Next, its time to add some color! First the flowers in the lightest 2 pinks were added on top of the die cut leaf wreath, covering the flowers already there. Next the little hearts…aren’t they adorable?….were added in all 3 of the warm colors in little clusters around the wreath. The large heart was then tucked in the lower right corner of the wreath. To finish off the card, a few Light Gold Pearl Dots for the flower centers for some added sparkle. Lastly, the sentiment from the coordinating stamp set was stamped using Obsidian Pigment Ink and then die cut using the Featured Sentiment Die set…easily one of my most used die sets! This card was very easy and with the left over die cuts I was able to create another card…

This card has the die cuts inlayed in the negative background left over from die cutting. The background die cut was placed on Evergreen cardstock for a little border the placed onto an A2 panel of Blush for the card base. Another sentiment from the stamp set die cut with the Featured Sentiment die set. So cute!

I’m also sharing with you 3 fun cards I made with the Dear Heart die and the Expressions of the Heart stamp set. I wanted to keep these cards simple, but give them lots of sparkle with the new Stellar Squinis Shimmering Pool.

I find the Misty Morning card stock goes incredibly well with the new sequin color. Combined with a crisp white card stock, the result is soft and fresh. The Dear Hearts die makes a beautiful background, and the sentiments from the Expressions of the Heart stamp set are perfect for the Valentine holiday.

Now, who wants to get $20 to spend at ALTENEW? I’m having a giveaway, so head over to my instagram page for your chance to win!
