Summer Fun with JEEP and SOC

Hi all!

It's time for another challenge with Sisterhood of Crafters, and this month the theme is 'Fun in the Sun'.

Being from Toledo, Ohio....home of the Jeep Wrangler....and having a childhood dream of being Daisy Duke.....I'm a product of the late 70's, early 80's show Dukes of Hazzard....nothing says fun in the sun to me than riding around in a vintage Jeep Wrangler with the top down! I had a black Jeep when I was in my very early 20's and LOVED EVERY MINUTE of it! It was black with a hard top, and the very first beautiful day of the year....which usually happened in early March.....that top would come right off. I would then spend the next 2 month's freezing my tookus off trying to manifest more beautiful weather. I can't tell you how many times I got caught in the rain during those 2 months, but I was determined and invincible! It was awesome...

When I saw this die from Erin Lee Creative, I knew I HAD to have it! I choose to create a Jeep in the style I would want now, lots of pink and probably a Dorothy Draper floral fabric interior....I am a girly-girl!

The body of the Jeep was die cut from metallic pink card stock, while the DSP paper came from an old Paige Davis paper pack I had in my stash. The embellishments on the Jeep all coordinate with the DSP.

The background was ink blended using Altenew's Rolling Hills stencil which was part of the Cosy Comfort retreat last year. The trees weren't added, as it tends to lean more toward an Italian country side as opposed to the MidWest USA. The sentiment came from the Erin Lee Groovy die set which I colored using Altenew's Dual-Tip Marker Set.

I hope you're having fun in the sun, but save some time for creating and share what you make with us! I hope to see your work there, have a colorful day!
